The high school of Wat Makutkasat


Location
The school is situated at 330/3 Khrungkasem Road, Bangkhunphrom subdistrict, Phranakorn district, Bangkok. The land of about 3 Rai of Makutkasat Temple is used for the school’s 5 buildings to give the students all classes.


The brief history of the high school of Wat Makutkasat
 The school was founded by The Ministry of Education in 1951. In the present, it belongs to Department of General Education of The Ministry of Education. Makutkasat Temple first gave a plot of land to build the junior high school as at that time many more students who finished their primary school needed to continue to study in junior high school, but there were no any other places nearby areas available for them. The purpose of founding the school was originally for only boy students, so Wat Makutkasat School used to be the school for boy. In 1964, it was the first time that senior high school was open to serve its students. Moreover, in 2002 it became the coeducation school and has served both boys and girls from then on.

It is sure that if you get to the high school of Makutkasat, you will reach the temple of Makutkasat as well. Because the school is a part of the temple, it depends upon the land of the temple. The temple of Makutkasat is considered as the second class of royal temple. This temple was founded by the king RAMA IV in 1851. Getting to the temple area, you can see many interesting sceneries.

It is not too difficult to reach the high school of Wat Makutkasat, if you have ever come to Bangkok. However for ones who have never been here before just take the regular buses number 12, 53, 56 and the air-conditioned ones number 503 and 509.
