The brief history of the high school of Wat Benchamabopit

As the monk’s attendants of Benchamabopit temple have problem travelling to study in the distant schools, the king RAMA V had royal intention to build the school for them. At the beginning, the only one building built in 1900 was only the school with its palm leave roof, mat door and window and was open first for the 40 students on May 5^th 1901 by the curriculum of the king RAMA V. After that, the school was developed continuously and the king gave his own capital to build the new building, European style. The building was given the name “Benchamabophit School” and on April 12^th 1904 was open for students.

 After that the school’s name was changed three times, for the high school of Benchamabopit, Wat Benchamabopit School and the high school of Wat Benchamabopit finally whereas the original name “Benchamabopit School” is used for the name of the primary school instead. In the present, the school has 7 buildings and is the school for boys from Matthayom 1 to Matthayom 6. There are 1,193 students

How to get to the high school of Wat Benchamabopit

You may start from the government house located on Phitsanulok road because the school is almost opposite to the government house with Phitsanulok road in between. By walking to the west from the government house on Phitsanulok road, you will see the Likhit lane at your right side and get it to reach the high school of Wat Benchamabopit.
